Yamaha Motor (UK) Ltd

2011 was a fantastic year for Yamaha, celebrating 50 years of Grand Prix racing and concluded with a stunning British Superbike Championship titlewinwith Tommy Hill and the YZF-R1. As well as the premier class championship, Yamaha titles were also secured by Keith Farmer on his YZF-R6 in British Superstock 600, Arnaud Tonus on his YZ250F MX2 machine and Luke Remmer on his YZ125 2-stroke. On the world stage, the YZF-R6 proved once again to be the machine to beat with Welshman Chaz Davies securing the World Supersport crown and Jed Metcher claiming the World Superstock 600title.
2012 will see Yamaha build on these successes and at the MCN London Motorcycle show, visitors will be treated to a fantastic selection of Yamaha’s current motorcycle and scooter models to try on for size, including the stunning new YZF-R1 with cross-plane crank and 6-stage traction control, the new performance focussed 530cc TMAX maxi-scooter and the all new Xenter 125 high-wheel scooter with its unique-in-class Unified Brake System. There will also be a selection of models in the new 50th Anniversary and Matt Grey liveries.
Also on show will be Tommy Hill’s very special BSB championship winning Swan Yamaha Superbike, a pair of distinctive Super Ténérés about to embark on a Dakar Rally adventure* with Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules, as well as a look into the future with Yamaha’s new fully electric EC-03 commuter vehicle.
If you want to talk ‘numbers’, you will also have the opportunity to speak to one of the Yamaha dealers that will be on hand.
So, whatever your two-wheel preference, come and visit the Yamaha stand to see what one of the industry’s leading manufacturers can offer you in 2012.
*Dakar Dreams – The brainchild of motorcyclist Graham Hoskins, Dakar Dreams is the next project in the ‘Motorbike Diaries’ series and will see Graham and Danny John-Jules, embark on a trip from Granada in southern Spain to Dakar via the route used in the 1996 Dakar Rally. Travelling through some of the most inhospitable places on earth, it will be a test of endurance and strength of both man and machine.
